Light at frequencies below visible red is called infrared. The human eye cannot see infrared frequencies but thermal imaging cameras can. All objects emit infrared energy at ordinary temperatures. The hotter the object, the more infrared energy it emits. The human eye is capable of seeing a small range of frequencies in the Electromagnetic Spectrum that we call visible light. Objects emit visible light only at very high temperatures.
 
Building Diagnostics
The primary diagnostic procedure for determining the thermal performance of a building envelope is infrared thermography. It can be used to identify heating and cooling loss due to poor construction, missing or inadequate insulation and moisture intrusion. Correcting the defects plays a significant role in increasing building efficiency and structural integrity.
Thermography can identify surface temperature variations of the building envelope, which relates to problems in the structure, thermal bridging, moisture content and air leakage.
Two primary mechanisms for heat loss in buildings are conduction through the walls and air leakage. Both can be identified from the surface of the building with infrared thermography. Early correction of the faults identified can be made before extensive damage occurs.
Mold testing $125.00 per room. $250.00 minimum charge for indoor air quality and outdoor control. A Complete mold test of a house up 2000 Sq Ft Usually cost about $2500.00 to $3000.00
Radon testing is available at your option for an additional $115.00 fee (plus any applicable trip charge).

Quotes supplied are for properties within the Greater Denver-Metro Area. Because our inspectors do make house-calls, an appropriate, nominal trip charge may be applied in your telephone quote if your property is outside this area.
If your home exceeds the square footage requirements above, please add $10 per 100 extra square feet.
Prices may vary if your home has more than one furnace or more than one hot water tank. Please add $65 for each additional furnace and $40 for each additonal hot water heater.
A $55 charge may apply for any required return trips.
Gateway can provide you with a thorough home inspection and/or an in depth physical inspection of your home or other real estate to find signs or evidence of water and mold damage, plus do comprehensive mold testing and mold investigation utilizing every type of mold testing technology, plus hidden moisture meter (to find water hidden inside walls, ceilings, and floors), fiber optics inspection device (to find mold hidden inside walls, ceilings, and floors), and a hygrometer (to check your home for elevated levels of mold-causing humidity). Moisture meter and inspection fiber optic devices will tell if there is moisture in walls, ceiling, flrs. If it is wet, mold will grow 24-48 hours. Gateway will find these wet spots.
